「なりふり構わずいいものは何でも取り入れる」的なスタンスが見え、とても好感が持てます。

左側の”MY FAVORITE”はどんなサイトでも突っ込んでおける簡易ブックマークに。
どんなサイトでも、です。つまりGoogleでもなんでも。
マウスオーバーでサムネイルと広告が表示。Y!をトップにしている人にとても便利かも。

あとは右上。”WEB SEARCH”の上あたりにある「What are you doing?」。
どっかで聞いたようなフレーズですが、どっかで聞いたようなサービスとまったく同じです。

その他ではブランドパネルがある位置に「POPULAR SEARCHES」。
日本で言う「検索ランキング」ですね。
MSに買収されると言い続けられているY!の検索ですが、まだあきらめていないのかな、と。

ソーシャルな事業部を立ち上げた割にはあまりその外に出て行かない日本のY!に比べて、
シンプルに良さそうなことをやる米Y!、いいです。

The new chief at struggling Yahoo said Tuesday she would cut 5 percent of the staff at the pioneering Internet search and portal company, or about 700 jobs.

The job losses are designed to “eliminate duplication of effort,” CEO Carol Bartz said Tuesday as Yahoo reported a 78 percent per-share decrease in first-quarter profit.

Yahoo intends to notify workers who will lose their jobs over the course of the next couple of weeks.

Yahoo reported net income of $117.6 million on revenue that decreased 13 percent to $1.58 billion.
